Copper Harbor Day Trip

On Sunday, 8/18 we decided to make a small little trip to Copper Harbor. The husband just finished fixing up a Jeep we had purchased earlier in the year and he was eager to test out the "road trip-ness" as we would need it starting 8/23 for our trek down to Florida. We got up super early to finish packing up our day needs, packed up the pups, and headed out. Several hours later (and forgotten time changes) we had arrived at Copper Harbor. We stopped at a little general store right by the lake (or as my husband calls it, the ocean) and grabbed a few lunch items to cook up later. Once the goods were secured, we had ventured back out.
On a mission to find some old military missal thing, we ended up off-roading onto some of the shared ATV trails. We went down to Fish Cove and Rock Point, but after a few hours I was ready to get back on a smoother road. We headed back towards civilization (but not reception) and found a place on the side of the road for a secluded place along Lake Superior to let the dogs run. We got out, played fetch in the water with the dogs (they very much needed to burn some energy), and made some brats on the mini propane grill we had brought with us. The Jeep is definitely worthy of a long road trip and we cannot wait to take it down to Florida this upcoming weekend.
The dogs enjoyed chasing the ball and it was nice to just get out and explore and enjoy all the company my husband and dogs have to offer. Hopefully Florida will be just as relaxing and stress-free as this past weekend was (though without the dogs).
