Finally! We had good weather this morning and were able to go out on our Everglades tour. Though we didn’t see a lot of alligators, we did get to see a momma gator protecting her nest and our boat had a small little hitchhiker. We then grabbed lunch at Kountry Kitchen nearby (which was very good) before my husband and I headed off towards Orlando. We very much enjoyed staying with my grandparents and are glad they’re still around to host us and entertain us when we are able to visit them. After a few hours we reached Orlando, where we stopped in Disney Springs. We’ve been here a few times, but never given an opportunity to really look around the different shops so it was nice to do so. We did a lot of walking, but it was good to get out and do so after spending so much time in the car the past week as it is. We tried the Ganachery in place of Gideon’s Bakery due to the excessive line. We got to see some cool Disney artwork and take a look at their Halloween merchandise. We later made our way to Boathouse and even though the inside was packed, the two of us were able to be seated immediately on the patio outside (yes, it was warm. But it was worth it). We ordered a drink for ourselves and then our entrees. The restaurant wasn’t badly priced, maybe a little pricier than expected, but still within reason for the quality of food receiving. I would highly recommend this place (as it was recommended to me). After dinner, we headed back to a few shops to grab some chocolate we wanted earlier (we obviously waited so it didn’t go bad walking around in the hot, August, Florida heat) before heading back to the Jeep. We decided to drive partially towards Atlanta (tomorrows adventure) and stop at Buc-ee’s in Fort Valley, GA to stop and rest a bit as we had time before our ticket entry for the next morning. Hopefully we’ll get some good snoozing in.
